Before you buy
Check your Mac
Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it says Apple M1, M2, M3 or newer and macOS 14 or later, you're set.
Your other mics stay as they are
TunedMic adds one more microphone to the list. Your other devices and their settings don't change.
Your voice stays on your Mac
Everything runs on your computer. Sound Check audio is cleared from memory as soon as it's measured.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 and newer) running macOS 14 or later. Intel Macs aren't supported.
Is there a free trial?
No. Instead, this page has real before and after recordings from three different mics, set to the same loudness. Listen with headphones before you decide.
Will people hear a delay?
TunedMic adds less than a tenth of a second. On a call, that disappears into the delay the connection already adds.
Do AirPods work?
Yes. TunedMic works with Bluetooth headsets, AirPods included. Bluetooth limits how much detail a mic can send, so a wired or USB mic gives TunedMic more to work with.
Does my voice leave my Mac?
No. TunedMic processes your voice on your Mac, in real time. Nothing is uploaded.
What does it install?
The app, a background service that keeps TunedMic running when the window is closed, and an audio driver that adds TunedMic to your list of microphones. macOS asks for your password once, for the driver.
How many Macs can I use it on?
Two. One license covers, say, your work laptop and your desktop at home.
What happens when the year of updates ends?
Your license never expires and the version you have stays yours. You just stop getting new versions. Another year of updates is $25.
I already have a good mic. Why would I need TunedMic?
A good mic captures your voice well. It knows nothing about your voice, your room or how loudly you talk. Sound Check tunes to all three, for whatever mic you use, from a MacBook's built-in mic to a studio condenser.
