Download TunedMic for Mac
Two ways to install, one result: a virtual microphone called TunedMic that every app on your Mac can pick.
- Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later
- TunedMic needs a license key. There is no trial, so listen to the before/after clips first.
The quick way: one line in Terminal
Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities), paste the line below and press Return.
curl -fsSL https://tunedmic.com/install.sh | bashTerminal asks for your Mac password once, to install the audio driver that creates the TunedMic microphone. You type it into macOS. We never see it.
Or use the installer
TunedMic is not from the App Store, so the first time you open it, macOS stops and asks you to confirm in System Settings. You do this once.
Download TunedMic (.pkg)- Open TunedMic.pkg. macOS shows a warning and does not open it yet. Click Done, not Move to Trash.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the line about TunedMic and click Open Anyway.
- In the next window, click Open (macOS may ask for your password) and follow the installer.
After installing
- Allow microphone access when TunedMic asks. Without it, the app can’t hear you.
- Run Sound Check: read the short text out loud for about a minute.
- Choose TunedMic as the microphone in Zoom, Meet or whichever app you use.
Where to choose TunedMic
Open the audio or microphone settings in your app and pick TunedMic. It works the same way in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Discord, OBS and browsers. Change the profile later and every app hears the new sound at once, with no restart.
Removing TunedMic
The uninstall guide walks you through removing the app and its audio driver.
